Brown Memorial Library Launchpad Lending Program Policy
In keeping with our mission to foster personal growth and development and to provide resources to satisfy community needs for popular materials and recreational reading, the Brown Memorial Library is circulating Playaway Launchpads. These tablets, which require no internet connectivity or downloading to use, come preloaded with high quality, interactive apps centered on a certain subject or theme.
Eligibility
- Borrowers must be a Brown Memorial Library cardholder in good standing.
- Borrowers must be 18 years of age or older.
- Borrowers must present a current, valid, government issued photo ID to be kept on file and complete a Launchpad Lending Agreement prior to checking out a Launchpad.
Terms and Conditions
- The loan period is seven days.
- Launchpads can not be renewed.
- Fines will accrue at the rate of $1.00 per day.
- Launchpads may be placed on hold but must be picked up within 24 hours.
- Limit of one Launchpad checked
- Patron is responsible for anyu changes in condition while the device is in the their care. Charges for lost, damaged, or stolen Lauchpad are as follows:
$100-200 depending on the Launchpad device.
If the item is returned with any of the following parts missing or damaged, the cost of replacement is as follows:
$16.00 for case
$15.00 for power adapter
$10.00 for silicone bumper
$10.00 for micro-USB cord
Prices are current as of 2025 and will be reviewed and adjusted as needed.
The Brown Memorial Library reserves the right to refuse lending devices to patrons who have lost or damaged library equipment or who are repeatedly late in returning loaned devices, The library is not liable for any damages or expenses resulting from use or misuse of these devices, connection of the device to other electronic devices or networks, or data loss resulting from their use.
