Doors to Discovery Museum Pass Program Policy

 

In support of its mission to foster personal growth and development, the Brown Memorial Library offers free access to various museums and cultural institutions through the Doors to Discovery Museum Pass Program.

Eligibility

Any Brown Memorial Library cardholder in good standing and aged 18 or older may borrow a museum pass.

General

Admission policies vary with each pass.  

Borrowing Information

  • A borrower’s agreement must be completed by the patron prior to participating in the program.
  • Museum passes may be borrowed for 7 days and cannot be renewed.
  • Fees will apply if the pass is returned late, damaged, or lost.
  • Patrons may place holds on museum passes. If available, they will be will be held for 24 hours. Passes not picked up in time will be put back into circulation.
  • Borrowers are responsible for verifying information about hours, closings, and parking.

Returns

  • All passes must be returned in person to the Brown Memorial Library.
  • Museum passes must not be returned in the book drop.

Fines and Fees

  • There is a $5 per day late fee for any pass not returned by the due date.
  • Passes not returned within 14 days of the due date will be considered lost and the full cost of membership will be billed to the borrower.
  • Patrons will be charged for the replacement cost of a damaged pass.
  • In the event of a lost pass, the borrower will be responsible for the full cost of membership.

Limitations

  • A maximum of two passes may be checked out on a patron’s card at any time.
  • A patron may not borrow a specific pass more than once in a 30-day period.
